Tainan Day Tour from Kaohsiung

Built in the 1600s, the Tainan Confucius Temple is one of the oldest Confucius temples in Taiwan, and continues to be one of Taiwan's most important institutes for culture and education.

Anping Old Fort, or Fort Zeelandia, was built by the Dutch East India Company in the 1600s. It now serves as a museum. Its architecture is charming and unique.

The Former Tait & Co. Merchant House was a former warehouse built by the Dutch, and is currently a historical site showcasing Taiwan's past. Next to the museum is the Anping Tree House, where a grand banyan tree has been growing through an old warehouse building, making for a fascinating site.

Chihkan Tower (also known as Fort Provintia) was the administrative centre of Dutch East India Company during their occupation in Taiwan. As it was reconstructed throughout the centuries, elements of Taiwanese influence were added to the tower as well. It is an important historical monument.

Hayashi Department Store has a unique facade, having been built by the Japanese in the 1930s. It also as a fascinating history, as it is the first ever department store built in Tainan, and the second ever in the entirety of Taiwan.
